How accurate are the answers?
NoLock routes every question through the latest frontier models. Accuracy depends on the subject, but most users see consistently strong results across multiple-choice, short answer, and reasoning-heavy questions.
Which platforms does it work on?
NoLock’s native overlay works over anything on screen — every exam browser and proctor (Respondus LockDown Browser, Honorlock, Proctorio, Examplify, ProctorU, and more), whatever you’re taking your exam in. It runs on both macOS and Windows.
How does Auto Solver work?
The built-in Auto Solver is macOS only. Flip it on, then hold the left mouse button on a question for about three seconds. NoLock takes a screenshot, a frontier model reads the question and finds the answer, and NoLock either selects it for you (Click) or shows it in the overlay (Show only). One question per hold, and the overlay hides itself while it works. Release early, move the mouse, or press Esc to cancel. On Windows, a separate specialized Autosolver can be used, but it only works inside Respondus LockDown Browser on Canvas quizzes by Instructure.
Which AI models can I use?
Chat routes to the latest frontier models, GPT 6 Astra, GPT 5.6 Sol, Gemini 3.1 Pro, and Gemini 3.8 Flash. Pick one from the model picker and switch whenever you like. Auto Solver uses NoLock’s solve model automatically, nothing to configure.
Is it visible to LockDown Browser or screen sharing?
No. The overlay is a non-activating panel: the exam app keeps focus, and clicking the overlay never steals it. It is excluded from screen capture and screen sharing, and nothing is injected into the exam page. Show only never touches the exam; in Click mode NoLock moves the cursor to the answer and clicks it for you.
Is using NoLock cheating?
NoLock is an assistance tool. You are responsible for following your school and exam policies, so please review them before using NoLock on any graded assessment.
How is NoLock installed?
On macOS, one line in Terminal: curl -fsSL https://getnolock.com/install/mac | sh. It downloads the app, installs it to /Applications, and launches it. You need macOS 14 or later with System Integrity Protection and AMFI disabled from Recovery — the setup guide walks through it. Then sign in with Google and Arm. On Windows it’s a single PowerShell line instead (no SIP/AMFI needed); the setup guide covers it.
Are there keyboard shortcuts?
Yes, and they work from anywhere. ⌘H shows and hides the overlay, ⌘⇧S opens Chat, ⌘S takes a screenshot and attaches it to the chat, ⌘Q quits instantly, and ⌘ with the arrow keys nudges the overlay around the screen. Esc cancels a hold.
What if I am not satisfied?
NoLock is month-to-month with no contract. If it is not working for you, cancel from your account page and your subscription ends at the close of the current billing cycle, no charge for the next month.
