Autosolver Setup

The Autosolver is a separate app that answers questions automatically, hands-free, right inside your exam.

Read this first. The Autosolver works only with Canvas quizzes (by Instructure) taken inside Respondus LockDown Browser — nothing else. It does not work with any other proctor, exam browser, LMS, or app. For anything else, use the NoLock overlay instead.

Download and open it

Grab the Autosolver for your computer, then open it.

Download for macOS (.dmg)

On first launch macOS blocks it once. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to the bottom, and click Open Anyway. You only see this once.

After setup it installs under a random name (e.g. x7k2qm) for stealth — the setup screen shows the exact name, so jot it down to find the app later.

Sign in

Sign in with the same account you subscribed with. You’ll land on the main screen.

Pick a model and trigger

Choose your frontier model, then pick a trigger. Manual fires when you click a question’s header, so you control the pace. Auto answers each question the moment it loads. Both are invisible to proctoring software.

Answers fill straight into the Canvas page — no cursor movement, nothing a proctor can see.

Initialize

Click Initialize. It asks for one-time system permissions — approve them (you may see a prompt for your device password; that’s just your OS confirming). When it finishes, the app closes itself and you’re live inside LockDown Browser.

Test it first

Before the real exam, run a practice Canvas quiz inside Respondus LockDown Browser to confirm everything works while there’s still time to fix it.

Eject when you’re done

Once you’ve finished and closed Respondus LockDown Browser, reopen the app and click Ejectto remove it cleanly — no traces left behind. Only eject when you’re fully done; skipping it leaves the Autosolver in place for next time.
